Field Trip to Orange County Audubon Society’s 6 1/2 Station Road Sanctuary. There is a pond and a wooded trail. There should be a good variety of migrating song and shore birds. An easy walk. Free and open to the public. Meet by the Audubon sign post 9 a.m. Led by Jim VanGelder. Weather cancelations posted on Facebook. This field trip is sponsored by the Albert Wisner Public Library.

August 25, Oil City Road:
Meet Joyce Depew (978-9952) at the Wallkill River National Wildlife Refuge platform at 8am for early migrants and shorebirds.

Sept. 1, Black Dirt Region:
Meet David Baker (446-4030) at 8:30 am in parking lot of the former Jolly Onion Restaurant in Pine Island. Buff-breasted Sandpipers will be our target.

Sept. 8, Stewart State Forest:
Meet Bill Fiero (728-5208) at the North Ridge Road parking area for warblers, thrushes, vireos, sparrows, and so on.

Sept. 22, Bashakill:
Meet Scott Baldinger (888-2333) at the Deli Fields at 8:30am to look for thrushes, sparrows, warblers, and Philadelphia Vireo.

Sept. 29, Winding Waters Trail:
Meet Kathy Ashman (294-6140) at the trail parking lot at 8am. Connecticut Warbler and Lincoln’s Sparrow are possible.
